My story
I am a classically trained piano teacher who has built up an enviable reputation over the last 40-plus years. I pride myself on my commitment to providing a professional service tailored to every student I work with. This commitment starts on arrival for the lesson, with a short period of ‘quiet time’, allowing the student to distance themselves from phones, the internet and the many distractions of the modern world before the lesson begins.
I have a proven method that I use with all of my students; I
set both short-term targets and long term aims for students, and students are never made to feel rushed. Parents are welcome to stay and watch their child’s skill and passion grow.
My friendly, patient approach gives lots of encouragement and I always like to be supportive; I am always available if a student has any worries or needs to chat on the telephone about their lessons or exams.
For students taking exams, my sessions are done to all current Royal Schools of Music exams standards and are available from grade 1 through to grade 8. I also teach the important history and theory of music.
We are excited to share that you Kathleen Thompson been named Best Piano Company by DistinguishedTeaching.co.uk in 2024, placing Kathleen among the select few recognized winners.
